Autumn Fishing Techniques on Lake Biwa

1、Finesse Drop Shot Rig

Following summer, drop shot rigs and cat rigs continue to be extremely effective for catching fish.
Since the bass are scattered across various ranges, you can get plenty of bites in shallow weeds and deep structures.

The method is the same as in summer, and the lures used are the Anostraight 3.5“ and Anoslider 3.8”.

2、Crank Bait

When the water gets muddy, it’s time to bring out the crankbaits.

Select the diving depth of your crankbait based on the range where the baitfish are swimming that day.

Generally, use a crankbait around 3 meters deep (10feet), and when targeting structure in ultra-deep areas, use a magnum deep crankbait.

3、Umbrella Rig

Umbrella rigs are effective for bass chasing baitfish.
They produce aggressive strikes, making it a very exciting way to fish.

Sometimes two bass will strike at the same time.
That’s how abundant the bites are in Lake Biwa during autumn—a forgiving lake where even beginners and families can enjoy themselves.

4、Finnese Swim Jig

This rig keeps producing fish well into late autumn.
This rig sees the most use from autumn through late spring.

Especially when used in autumn, you can feel plenty of bites, and it also serves as practice for winter through spring.

Swim jigs are absolutely essential for winter fishing on Lake Biwa, so our guests first use them on Lake Biwa in autumn. Then, in the following winter and spring, they target big fish using the skills they’ve acquired.
